I love wearing black. I can happily wear an outfit consisting mainly of - or even fully of - black. A lot of the outfits I'm drawn to on streetstyle websites involve a lot of black too.One of my friends refuses to buy any black, while I shy away from brown and blue, in favour of black every time.
So when my boyfriend told me he had bought me a mainly-brown top from Urban Outtfitters as a present (he has been visiting his dad in Canada for the last week) I wasn't too keen to begin with.
However, a shopping trip yesterday resulted in not one, but two brown purchases. A fringed bag and a brown polka dot dress, that isn't the most flattering thing ever but was picked up for only £3 at a discount vintage store. I tried them on with the only other brown item I own; a pair of 4 year old boots, and to be honest... I think I could get used to this colour!

ReplyDeleteYour dress looks adorable! Brown is an interesting colour to wear but it's hard to get into it after being addicted to black. Black is my weakness as well and I try not to buy it any more, but sometimes black outfits are too irresistible.

ReplyDeleteI love black too! All black outfits, particularly mixing textures, are awesome. Brown does make me feel a bit Earth Mother - the hair plus brown means a hippy to me!
