"Those Are The Fu**ing Ugliest Boots"

We had beautiful weather this week, and so many an hour was spent lying in the park eating unhealthy 'picnic' snacks and half-revising for my exams. On Wednesday myself and the boyfriend spent a few hours in the park and I had a lovely sleep in the sun. I walked home and upon getting onto the street I live on, there was a group of students sat outside their house smoking and listening to music.

I happily walked past, having had a lovely day, until I heard a loud voice shout that my gladiators were "The fucking ugliest boots" he had "EVER seen". And then his group of stereotypically dressed student friends laughed. Booo. To make it worse, it wasn't like I could walk off quickly as I only lived about 6 doors down from them so had to stop and take ages finding my keys, knowing my "ugly" boots were on show =[.

Blah, I guess thats what one must expect when wearing 'unusual' shoes, but there was no need for someone to be so loudly rude on purpose. He could have waited until I had walked past and remarked to his friends quietly his opinion on my shoes, instead of shouting it, especially as I was all alone!
But enough of that. As you can see from the photos, I also went and bought the fringed bag in beige as well as brown, because I loved it so much!

  1. Love the fringe bag and the boots. Dont worry, people without sense of style always react weird when they see something outside the "herd". I agree, he should have waited to tell his friends, but bad manners and smirk remarks happens to everybody who dare to be different. So, as the fashiongirl you are, lift your head high and be happy-that you are in fact different.

  3. uhm, i would have gone up to them and kicked their asses i think. or at the very least, flip them the finger! i think they would have appreciated it more if the dress wasn't covering the top of them? i don't know maybe thats me. still, the shoes are awesome.

but when someone is an asshole like that don't let it ruin your day girlie! be proud with what you're wearing and don't let douches mess that up.

  10. Ugh some people are dumb, that's a fact. He's obviously compensating for something by acting like a tool. Your shoes go against the boring norm but that's only a part of what makes them so cool...the rhyming wasn't intentional.

  11. Don't care about him! I love your sense of style :) He probably has NONE that's why he's being an asshole! *hugs

  20. I love your bag! Where did you buy it? Don't care about people like those. I offen meet this kind of people in Poland- dressed in very boring way and completly out of fashion. Their comments like this are simply stupid. Your sandals are great.

  29. Your shoes are gorgeous! I think it's hilarious when stereotypically dressed people look at me funny for what I'm wearing--like they're one to talk!

  30. Can I have that bag please!? Its the greatest thing I have ever laid eyes on and I am utterly jealous. But you look too great with it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm surprised you got comments like that in Mancs, it's not as fashion-forward as London but I always see people sporting unusual looks there without any idiots saying anything. I'd just put it down to a tosser being a tosser, you looked great!

    ReplyDelete
  32. urgh how horrible to say that! i think you looked lovely that day, and the sandals look amazing, totally natural with the outfit! they're selling similar pairs in topshop now even! a while ago if anyone said anything weird to me i used to start saying things back like 'do you even know anything about fashion? they were all over the balenciaga spring runway actually.' sometimes people just laugh but sometimes they swallow their words haha

  33. Thanks for visiting my blog. Would u like to link?

  34. how utterly rude!!

    they're not even boots!

  36. WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR BAG?! I want it SO bad!!! Also, the glad. sandals are fierce. don't listen to some idiot who doesn't know the difference between boots and sandals. and p.s. I'm on a waiting list for them, so they can't be THAT ugly when people like me are just waiting for a chance to get my hands on them ;) p.s. you're on my daily reads section. xoxox

  37. aww I know what you mean, this happens when I wear socks with my gladiators. He was probably just trying to deflect attention on the fact that he's an obnoxious weiner and/or hasn't gotten laid in about a bazillion years. Trust, those boots are hot.

    ReplyDelete
  38. i hate people who have nothing better to do than to look at others to critisize. I guess looking inside them is probably too horrible...

your sandals are great, so is your bag and so are you.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I agree with you, they didn't have to say it out loud. It was very rude. I can't believe some people still don't have manners.

    ReplyDelete
  40. gosh, how really rude. but don't worry about it, they're just jealous of your sense of style!

    ReplyDelete
  41. well..they we will be always there, the stupid persons that don't understand anything about fashion :)
I think that your gladiator shoes are amazing, if you love them, this is what matters.

    I really love your blog.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Don't listen to those rude boys - you looked great!

    ReplyDelete
  43. You look amazing pulling off ur gladiator sandals, hope you didn't feel so affected by these awful people. Jeez, can't believe such a thing happened..:-S

    ReplyDelete
  44. you got them? i soooo want those sandals badly! very cute!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I just wanted to add... the people who yelled those rude things are unbelievable. Haven't they ever heard of fashion, self expression? It seems when one wants to dress a little differently, people don't "get it" but don't worry, we (in the know fashionistas) do! And you look great! :-)

  46. I've just found your blog via the The Seeker and I've never! That gruesome oaf was lucky that the Despotic Queen of Shoes wasn't within ear shot cos I would have given him a right mouth full!

I love 'em and you look fab!

  47. awww! i must have those shoes(long gladiators)and that bag!! i love that outfit!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Boo hiss to him! I bet he dresses like crap, no? Rude of him, without question. But anyone with at least decent fashion taste would be aching for those shoes right now (I am an example).

    ReplyDelete
  49. what a bastard! f*** him. Your sandals are fab!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. i really like your blog and your shoes!
are they comfortable and do they rub at all?? because i was thinking of buying some off a website that look almost exactly the same to those.

    ReplyDelete
  51. This kind of thing, unfortunately, happens a lot when you decide to wear something ever so slightly uncommon/different/interesting (personally I love your shoes).
I pity the kid who needs to insult people to look funny/witty/interesting to his friends who are just equally as stupid.

But you need people like that, just for the sake of looking better than other people, because if everybody was the same, you wouldn't be so interesting anymore :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Obviously a person of no taste! I LOVE the boots.

    ReplyDelete
  53. DuDe i Love Your sandals!! Where did you get them? Pleas check my blog out!

  54. Isn't the point of gladiator boots to kind of rough up or ugly up an outfit? Take it as a compliment lady! ;)
