Movie.

Went to see the Sex & the City movie a couple of days ago and LOVED it. I won't go into any detail as I'm sure many people haven't seen it, but I am lusting after Carrie's pyramid-studded belt that she wears in quite a few scenes. Must find something like it!

Who else has seen it and what did you think? Is there anyone who isn't interested in seeing it?

This is what I wore to go to the cinema. I decided to dress up a little as we were possibly going for cocktails afterwards, but we didn't get out of the cinema until after midnight so abandoned that thought!

Also I just watched the season finale of Gossip Girl on the internet and thought it was a disappointing last episode! Boo.

My exams are finally over, thank goodness. How are other people with exams doing?

To celebrate my coursemates and I went out for a three-course lunch at a mexican when we finished our last exam, and then that evening the boy and I went out for dinner as well. I think I ate enough to feed a family of four in one day. Oh dear. But celebrations involving food are always my favourite it must be said!
I wore this Topshop dress in the day, which I wasn't sure about at first - I only got it as the "Get One Free" part of the sale deal, but I'm glad I got it now =]

It appears I dressed down rather than up for the evening, I'm not sure how that happened!! I love the simplicity of a bandage skirt and striped tee at the moment. Primark keep bringing in new colours of the ridiculously cheap tube-tops, which I wear as skirts, and I couldn't resist this electric blue colour!
Oh and my housemates for next year and I (my current house is dispanding and we're all going to live with coursemates) picked our bedrooms yesterday. We did it completely fairly, picking a numbered room out of a bowl one by one, and I managed to pick myself the really TINY room that everyone was hoping they weren't going to end up with.
I can't remember exactly how small it was and now have visions of it having only a single bed or no wardrobe or desk or something - ARGH! Trust me to accidently pick the pea-sized room. I really want to see the room again to put my fears at rest, but won't be able to until August.

Where am I going to keep my shoes?!!

Dead Bodies.

My boyfriend and I went to see the "Body Worlds 4" exhibition by Dr Gunther Von Hagens at the Manchester museum of science on Friday. It was so strange to be stood next to real dead bodies! It sort of didn't register in my mind that they were real people and body parts because everything was so well preserved that they looked almost like plastic! I liked seeing a smokers lung, because it was DISGUSTING and made me happy I don't smoke, and I loved the three bodies playing poker round a table! That evening I changed into flat shoes (too much standing up in heeled boots had crippled me) and we went to see the new Indiana Jones movie with our friend Mike. It was a really fun film, despite my lack of interest in the past Indian Jones movies, which I will probably watch after enjoying the newest one!

P.S I got my first "hate" sort of comment on my last post, which is quite exciting - you know you're giving people something to think about when you start to get negative comments!

"You Look Poor"

I found my old 'staple' pair of black skinny legged jeans when I was revising at home, and wore them for a while despite the fact that the reason they're my old pair is that they had big holes at the inside of the knees (I'm knocked kneed... How embarrassing, apparently it means I wiggle my bum a lot when I walk... hmm) due to wearing them so much. Anyway, I was online having a browse on TFS when I was reminded of the ripped jeans on the Christopher Kane and Martin Margiela S/S catwalks, and decided to let rip (ha what a pun) on my jeans.
I didn't want my jeans to be as ripped as the Martin Margiela offerrings, and they didn't end up with as "perfect" looking rips as either pair since I merely used a pair of hair scissors, but I'm quite happy with them! My boyfriend's mum said I "looked poor", but all in good jest, because I reckon she likes them really!

I wore them with my boyfriend at the weekend, and then to go to the cinema with my friend after our exam yesterday, where I accidently bought a large popcorn (ie the guy at the counter asked if I would like to upgrade to large and I said no... Next thing I know he's going 'great! Here's your large!' ?!?!?!). That happens to me a lot... I must talk in a foreign language or something!!

These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things

Two of my favourite items of clothing at the moment are my black and white printed leggings and my new white patent, peeptoe shoe-booties that I accidently bought after declaring "I really need to stop spending money". Ah well. I can't stop wearing the leggings and shoes separately, so yesterday I decided to wear them together =].

P.S I will get round to doing my tags asap after my next exams, thanks guys!

Revision Stress

It's exam period now, which can mean only one thing: stress, stress, stress - horrah! Revision (or lack of) hasn't been much fun, but the weather last week was lovely, and I did my fare share of sitting in the sun to make up for the rubbishness of revision. Sadly, the weather has took a turn for the worse and is now raining, but since I should be revising anyway I can't complain!!

Also this week, the boy and I took a walk down to the seafront (we live at the seaside) and went into a tacky arcade to gamble away 2pence pieces. I was clearly immediately reverted back to childhood, when this sort of thing really fun, judging from my expression in this photo, which worries me!

AA Dress

Before I came home to revise I went out on a couple of pre-exam nights out and for one I finally got round to wearing the American Apparel "Skater" dress that the boy brought back from Canada for me. I also really like this necklace, though it looked quite tacky in the shop, I think it looks better on... Well, I hope so!
And thankyou for all the nice comments on the last post, I didn't mean to write so much about it, I just get upset easily, but I'm working on the thicker skin!

"Those Are The Fu**ing Ugliest Boots"

We had beautiful weather this week, and so many an hour was spent lying in the park eating unhealthy 'picnic' snacks and half-revising for my exams. On Wednesday myself and the boyfriend spent a few hours in the park and I had a lovely sleep in the sun. I walked home and upon getting onto the street I live on, there was a group of students sat outside their house smoking and listening to music.

I happily walked past, having had a lovely day, until I heard a loud voice shout that my gladiators were "The fucking ugliest boots" he had "EVER seen". And then his group of stereotypically dressed student friends laughed. Booo. To make it worse, it wasn't like I could walk off quickly as I only lived about 6 doors down from them so had to stop and take ages finding my keys, knowing my "ugly" boots were on show =[.

Blah, I guess thats what one must expect when wearing 'unusual' shoes, but there was no need for someone to be so loudly rude on purpose. He could have waited until I had walked past and remarked to his friends quietly his opinion on my shoes, instead of shouting it, especially as I was all alone!

But enough of that. As you can see from the photos, I also went and bought the fringed bag in beige as well as brown, because I loved it so much!

Socks.

The "Desert Rose" shoot in May's VogueUK photographed by Venetia Scott really struck me, as I loved the way that in every image in which the feet could be seen, the model, Siri Tollerod, was wearing coloured socks with sandals. So, I decided to try and incorporate some colourful socks with sandals into a couple of my outfits over the last week.
I've just realised both my outfits were worn to sporting events, the first to watch Liverpool FC get knocked out of the European championships (sad sad sad), though only at bar, and the second to watch Lancashire v Durham play cricket. The weather was so awful though that the ground was very empty!

Skirts and Quirks

This is what I wore last night for my housemate's birthday. I'd been looking for some tight, stretchy skirts for a while, and had the idea of buying some cheap boob-tubes and wearing them as skirts instead. I also got one in black and hot pink.
I also wore some of one of my new Barry M free glitter dusts in gold, though it isn't that obvious from the pic, and did my next stretch of my earlobes - I'm up to 5mm now and am going to stop stretching for at least a few months over Summer now, if not period, as I don't want too large a stretch so that one day in the future I can take them out and let them shrink back to normal.

Ok...
1. If I start reading a book or watching a TV show that I really enjoy I try to make it last as long as possible and really drag it out because I'm worried about it coming to an end and all the fun finishing. Therefore it took me from August-Feb to read my favourite trilogy (His Dark Materials) when they were available for me to read back-to-back as quick as I wanted. I also used to do this with my favourite outfits; not wear them for months and months, saving them up. I try not to do this anymore because it actually used to be ridiculous - it took me a YEAR and a half after I bought it to decide the time was worthy of one of my favourite dresses!!

2. I LOVE discussing things like the possibility of aliens and things I can't comprehend, like space. Especially when I am drunk.

3. I get REALLY worried about things, I stress constantly and feel sick and nervous before loads of stuff ranging from exams to making phonecalls. Public speaking especially makes me very, very nervous!

4. When I get angry or excited sometimes my nothing-in-particular-northern accent goes into a geordie accent, which my whole family have except my brother and I. I was actually born in Scotland and lived there until I was 4 and a half, but can't even immitate an even near convincing Scottish accent.
5. I love food as much as I love shopping, and know I could never have as good a figure as many people because I literally don't have the willpower to cut out rich, unhealthy foods, and would never want to. Eating out is always my favourite part of holidays too.

6. I'm a bit of a hypochondriac and am always complaining about some ailment or another.
