Dream A Little Dream Of...

So we're moved into our apartment now & have made the obligatory trip to IKEA and picked up some chairs, tables, lamps & a bed! We still have loads to get though, including a TV & cable/internet packages (thank goodness for free internet at cafe's, so I can still post)... It is just too hard to decide what the best deal is going to be!

Wishlist time! I'm a real sucker for leopard print, and these Topshop ankle boots are amazing, even though they're not a colour I'd normally wear! The clutch is perfectly embellished, as is the cuff. And the YSL leather jacket is the perfect blue. If all of this was to mysteriously appear in my closet tomorrow I'd be a very happy lady. But it isn't, so for now I shall just drool over this picture! :)

Postcard From The City

 

As promised, I thought I'd post some photos from my first week here in Vancouver!

 The weather is has been beautiful almost every day, which is always wonderful. I have eaten far too much amazing food (the blueberry & white chocolate bread  in picture 3 is just the tip of the culinary iceberg I've been exploring), walked for miles and miles around the city, signed a lease on an apartment, started job hunting, seen The Dark Knight Rises (awesome) and basically had a ridiculously busy week!

I've had no time for any retail therapy yet, though when we move into our apartment on Wednesday we will have to part with some cash for necessary, but not so exciting, items like a matress, a sofa and a TV. It will probably be a while before I can afford to spend money on myself, but as soon as I can afford to I will be purchasing lots of jewellery from Fresh Trends, as I didn't bring a lot of jewellery with me! A wham bar, marshmallows & a malted milk biscuit.

Sorry for being AWOL recently, I've been insanely busy packing (and repacking), getting all our documents sorted and being constantly convinced I was going to forget something important... But despite all that panicking, we are now in Vancouver with our working holiday visas! We've been here for 2 days now and my boyfriend has already landed a job, which is fantastic. We've got some appointments to look at apartments tomorrow, so hopefully we will find somewhere we like!

These photos were taken in the week before we left. Some of my best friends and I went out for dinner and cocktails in Manchester. We weren't expecting them to be as amazing as they turned out to be, as you can see from the first photo! I mean... A Wham bar, marshmallows, a malted milk biscuit?! And they tasted gorgeous too. The outfit photos were taken at a manor house called Canons Ashby, which the boyfriend and I visited with his Mum when we visited her in Northampton.

Old favourite dresses & time flying

This dress is one of my old favourites that I have owned since I was 18. I think it might be one of only two brown items of clothing I've ever owned (it just isn't a colour that I'm ever drawn to when shopping), but I can't bear to part with it! I wore it with this UO cardigan to dinner with my Mam, where I ate cajun coated salmon and crème brûlée (not together!); It was delicious.

Less than two weeks until I leave for Vancouver & the excitement is setting in! I still have so much to do before I go, though. Between clearing out my bedroom, putting things on ebay, seeing friends and family and working overtime, there aren't enough hours in the day!
